They free people from their any emotional, mental or even physical barriers that they perceive, even if a person doesn’t want to be set free and are comfortable within their limits. The Bard of Doom is probably a big risk with a big reward since that Killstreak thing could be pretty sweet for taking out the Black King but is the extended risk worth a easier fight? They believe their own standards and rules are the correct ones and try to enforce them whenever possible. Systems and order break down. Their blood is highly acidic. It’s also relatively misty, which represents the Bard’s Aspect “clouding their vision” during their crisis.
Their challenge is to learn to let others have their Aspect as well. Princes ghost their opposite Aspects as they destroy theirs. They’re always trying harder and holding themselves to extreme self-imposed standards. They’re pretty much a walking disaster. Bard of Doom: One who Invites Destruction of Doom or one who Invites Destruction through Doom.
Though they would then act like they totally understand and accept something as necessary but subtly complain about how much trouble it was or how much of a sacrifice it was to do the thing. Once they start to accept and rise to their challenge, their heels will immediately dig into the ground.
They think they can’t actually handle it, causing them to give it up too easily. Pissed enough to kill the rule-breaker? They’re easily swayed by any kind of temptation and lack self control or self imposed limits. how their actions (negatively) affect others, what sacrifices they’d have to But, it is also the idea that you can pull backwards and cautiously and wisely withdraw into your own self. They’ll never stop.
Bards have easy going, laid back and/or avoidant, cowardly personalities. It is impossible to know what the Bard feels and how he will react to things, and while players should not submit completely to the Bard’s whims to make him happy (it will inevitably backfire) they should be somewhat wary about how their actions and decisions influence the Bard’s motives and his relationship to the group. If someone is critically injured, the Bard can stabilize their condition. They would not accept any limit imposed on them, including something as simple as how much energy they have to move or walk or breath. They are truly passionate, even almost crazy activists. A Seer of Doom might struggle with the idea that everything is futile or limited in scope, that there are certain things that can’t be changed, certain lines that can’t be crossed.
