For dinner we had the chateaubriand , chicken and salmon as options and all were very good. Thank you so much to Ralph and his crew! The service throughout our photos, cocktail hour and reception was great and the night flowed smoothly, exactly how it was supposed to. He answered almost all of our questions during our "details meeting" even before we asked them, and was so helpful over e-mail, even when we sent him neurotic silly questions in the middle of the night. Part of the cocktail hour space is enclosed with a tent, which was a nice feature for guests who wanted to stay out of the sun. It was also really great attending Whitby's open house and getting a chance to meet the vendors before we committed to working with them. At the end of the day it was the best day of our lives and the castle was the perfect place to host such a special day. No matter the reason for the gathering, you will find a setting to match at Whitby Castle. When we toured the place, it was the staff and atmosphere that really gave us a sense of how our wedding night would be if we moved forward. To be honest, I was a little fearful after Linda left because it took us a long time to get in touch with someone, but as soon as I got in touch with Ralph I was put at ease. The space if truly one of a kind. Nothing was overlooked. Ralph was our Maitre D and, honestly, couldn't be a nicer guy. In particular, Ralph and Will were amazing!!! All... Our wedding was a wonderful experience at Whitby Castle! Ralph (the maitre'd) and his staff when above and beyond to make our day so special. Whitby Castle was the first venue we looked at for our wedding and after a tour and meeting we booked that day. It was simply a magical experience! There were a few “hidden” expenses and restrictions I wish we’d known about sooner (a truly custom cake costs extra, for example), but hard to complain when the overall experience is so good! Can't wait to work with them for the actual wedding! Luckily there weren’t many golfers in there due to the rain. Which was really good!!! There are certain things that can be nerve wracking leading up to a wedding, but the venue and their thorough nature was not one of them. Chef was also very considerate in making a special plate for my husband who is a picky eater. Also, by 4 the ballroom wasn’t set and they were still setting up decorations by the time we started rehearsing at 5 – which worried us a lot since our guests were to start arriving at 5:15. She has since moved back to Florida but know that she will continue being great for the Lessings Company.
